8 months!

This little child of mine is 8 months old. My goodness.. This month has been.. a difficult one.. Emma has been teething and sick so she has been quite cranky and extremely needy. Poor girl. I can tell she is in pain and it breaks this mama's heart. We also have been trying to sleep train her. It's been alright.. We tried the Babywise "cry it out" method (Thanks to my wonderful facebook friends for reminding me of this). She cried for like 35 minutes the first night with me checking in every 10/15 minutes. Then the next night it was only 20 and now it's not even 5 minutes. The only trouble we are having is ME not letting HER sleep in her pack-n-play.. She literally sleeps on her face. Her face! I am so incredibly terrified of SIDS and I get so scared so I move her and she wakes up.. goes back to sleep and again.. sleeps on her face.. So I'm literally going in 30 times before I go to bed to make sure she is breathing but I get so exhausted and I end up bringing her into our room to sleep in her bassinet/co-sleep. Ughhhhh it's quite frustrating. If any of you have tips.. let me know.

My mom and I threw a blanket down on her balcony and hurriedly put Emma in this (thrift store) outfit and took these pics.. We wanted to get the pretty sunset! Also.. I need to get her some bows. Her head is too big for all the ones she has! She kind of looks like a boy in a dress.. ha! She's still beautiful to me! :)

This month Emma..

• grew two teeth! Thus the crankiness.
• loves playing with my hair. She is not always soft about it either.
• squeals when she gets excited.
• pats everything with her hands.
• is so scared of the vacuum. I must not vacuum enough if she is now only scared of it! ha!
• stares when we pretend to cry but then laughs. So sweet..
• tries to pull off my mole below my neck. Ouch.
• walks in her walker. I'll be surprised if she isn't walking by next month.
• loves the book "Madeline". Takes after her mama there!
• climbed upstairs by herself for the first time and super fast, I might add. Don't worry I was right behind her the whole time. 
• loves the Babyfirst song "My child, me, and BabyfirstTV". She will sit there and watch it without looking away. Trev was holding her and she was almost asleep when that song came on and she turned her head to watch it and as soon as it was done she turned her head back to go to sleep. She's so funny.
