Evelyn is 1 month! It's crazy how it feels like the fastest and longest month of my life. Life with two kids is no joke. I'm not going to lie it's been hard, but amazing. I was talking to my cousin and she asked how being a mother is and I told her it's the hardest, most enjoyable thing you'll ever do. And it's so true!

Evelyn fits so well into our little family. It's like she's always been there. I absolutely love that I have two girls and I'm excited to see their friendship blossom. Everyone always asks how Emma is handling this new life and if she's been jealous and I haven't really noticed any jealousy with her. I just have to worry about Emma smothering her because she loves her so much! She always wants to touch her little face and give her kisses. She's always telling me she loves "baby sister" and thinks she's so cute.

Emma and Evelyn are super sick and it's worrying me so much! Emma has Bronchiolitis and Evelyn has a cold. It's breaking my heart seeing them so sick. It should be a law that kids can't get sick until they're 10.

I'm such a worrier. Always have been. When I had Emma I became even more of a worrier. Now with Evelyn I'm even more of a worrier! It's just going to keep on getting worse with each child! The first week with Evelyn was stressful because I get so paranoid when I sleep that something will happen. So I decided I needed the Owlet. (Did you know you can do a month to month payment plan?!) Best thing ever invented! It seriously has saved me so I can sleep! Hallelujah! I still get paranoid but it helps so much.

This month Evelyn..
  • Loves to nurse. With Emma we supplemented with formula because she was in the NICU and had some issues. So this time I'm exclusively breastfeeding with Evelyn. She's always a hungry gal!
  • Sleeps well at night (usually only waking up once!) but NOT during the day. My apartment is so tiny and basically a studio apartment (even though it has its own room) and so Emma is constantly waking her up. Like all the time. It's so frustrating. I'm doing Babywise again and it seems to be working okay. She sleeps a good stretch during the night. (Update: (I wrote this a week ago..) She slept over 7 hours the other night!)
  • Is losing her hair! She looks like an old man with a receding hairline! Emma's hair did exactly the same thing.
  • May have colic. She's been super cranky after feeding and cries a lot for no apparent reason. It may also be reflux. I'm not exactly sure. She just has fussy times during the day (luckily not so much at night) but besides that she's a pretty good baby. (Update: Im pretty sure she was just sick..)
  • Has started smiling at us! Talk about melting your heart! She smiles a ton in her sleep and she'd sometimes smile at us but then she'd spit up or poop so it wasn't a real smile haha! But lately she's been smiling without spitting up or pooping and she makes a ton of eye contact so I know she's actually smiling at us!
  • Definitely knows my voice. That is one of my favorite things about being a mom. When she recognizes my voice or when I come in the room and she just stares and follows me with her eyes. Even though she can't see well yet she can recognize me from across the room and I love it!
  • Always tries to put her head up! She thinks she's so old.

In reality I would have liked to take these photos with Emma & Evelyn in cute outfits and bows with Emma's hair done.. but these are more real. This is real life for us haha!
