5 Months - Evelyn Rose

5 months old. Wha! This month was a little better. I think she's finally starting to outgrow her colic. We kind of had a weird experience with her! I was outside swinging on the swing and I was holding her while she slept. I was out there for awhile talking to my dad when she woke up. All of a sudden she started screaming bloody murder. I have never heard a baby cry like that. I was frozen in shock. Imagine watching a scary movie and someone is screaming in it. That's how it was. It was so intense, so loud, and so high pitched. It was seriously so scary. So I took her inside and she stopped but then she started doing it again. We think maybe her arm was at a weird angle and it either fell asleep or was just super painful from being in that position because her arm was super red. I felt so bad. Ugh it was so crazy.

This month Evelyn..

• is starting to reach out to us! I love when they do that. It's one of the things I look forward to most!
• scoots around. I'm always so shocked when I turn around and she is so far away from where I put her.
• smiles with her tongue! Its the cutest thing in the world!
• looooooves soft blankets. She nuzzles her face into them. Whenever she is tired I put her on a soft blanket to put her asleep. She loves it. But don't worry I don't let her sleep with any blankets!
• is really taking an interest in books! I'll set one down and she'll just stare at it forever! Then after awhile it goes straight to the mouth.
